What to Expect: First Day Out
What to Wear...
Paintball is a game of running around, and shooting. Be sure to wear something that will protect you against the impact, and heat related sicknesses. If one of your parents were enlisted in the armed forces, ask if they can lend you their old fatigues or BDU’s. Combat boots are a bad idea, running shoes, or even moccasins that cover your whole foot will do great. If you rent a gun from someone, make sure you ask to borrow their mask, you will need this. Another good idea is to take a baseball cap that is green or darkish colors and put in on backwards, then don the mask. The bill of the hat will protect the back of your neck.

Bring...
The marker you borrowed or bought (duh). Your combat clothes, water, and the CO2 tank and paintballs. If you’re playing at an arena, bring money for extra supplies and field costs.
Expect...
A lot of running, and shooting. Prepare to be shot at, and to make cover from anything.
Moving and Cover…
Move quietly and move low to the ground, this will help when people are shooting, if you are low to the ground you are not easily seen and make a harder target. Watching SWAT movies or army movies will not help. In those movies they make moves that are dumb and will never benefit you in a paintball situation. If you are playing 1 on 1 or even 2 on 2, hide behind an area that protects you on 2 sides, so u can still see the field and your opponents. If playing 3 on 3 or above, work with your team to set up a tactical game and use your team. Paintball is a team sport, your not flying solo.
Conclusion...
Overall, have fun, work with your team, and don’t expect a big deal or pain when hit. If you are hiding and not moving, you will be found quicker and shot more. You should be on the move every 2 minutes or so, and make sure no opponent is in the area when you do. Don’t shout to teammates, even if you run out of gas or paintballs. That is almost like standing right up and saying “Right over here fellas!!” you will find that paintball is a fun sport after a couple games.
